In reaction to Diana Miglioretti's message on Amanda's facebook page to fly out to Moab and enjoy the sunny warm weather here it is now snowing. Cold wet weather has tended to follow her and Jason. But, it gave us an excuse to take the day off. We are pretty beat up from climbing out at Indian Creek and biking (and crashing) in Moab. So, we got a room, jumped in the hot tub, licked at our wounds, and showered off the desert dust. The other good news about the snow is that it should make for great skiing tomorrow in the La Sals, the weather promises to be clear and cold. Lately, we have been hanging out with the "Mustache Crew" from Bend, OR out at Indian Creek. The guys (Paul, Aaron, Taylor, and Zac) all grew mustaches in order to stand out in the desert and possibly scare off (or more likely, fit in as one) the locals. What is interesting is that I know these guys fairly well and feel comfortable with them but when looking at these guys from afar I can't help but attach my stereotypical bias on them of someone who sports a mustache on purpose. They look quite different and my mind shapes a different personality on them then the one I already know. It shows how short sighted I can be when judging someone by their appearance. And, makes me reflect on my own fashion statements lately such as sporting several shades of socks with sandals with sweatpant like fleece pants and the same fleece shirt dirtied with the desert sand. But, I am reconciled by the gal who was wearing 80's type leg warmers while climbing. Sorry about the fashion talk but I am in the laundrymat watching the clothes go round and round as I type this. Luckily Dave was also fascinated with my choice of foot wear and we all can enjoy it. Anyway, we are moving a little slow today but we are living it up in the big city by sleeping in a real bed and eating out. Tomorrow we are back in the van and back on the skis!!!

Hey - since we are not heading that way, maybe the sun will come back out and it will be 70 again? It is still freakin cold and rainy in Seattle, damn it... We are going surfing on the OR coast next weekend. Maybe you two should drive out to meet us (Manzanita)? If it doesn't get above 55, I ain't going in that water.... No way, no how...
